I attended the Emergency First Aid at Work course at GEM'S Bingley training centre. My trainer Catherine was both... professional and approachable. I found the delivery of the course to be fun and engaging, whilst informative on all levels. I have taken part in many compliance training courses over the years, in which many came across confusing and robotic, however I feel GEM has given me a fantastic experience from beginning to end. Service from all the team has been impeccable. The course content was easy to understand and implement. The workbooks supplied were a brilliant added touch! - Incredibly smart and useful to refer back to. The training room was spacious, clean and inviting, making me comfortable to enjoy the course feeling confident to get stuck in! (and most importantly- a fantastic selection of biscuits to go with my well deserved cuppa!) I look forward to further courses in the future and I would recommend GEM to any individual or organisation looking for a personalised, professional experience from start to finish! She was a excellent teacher who made me feel at ease doing the course, as i'm not a confident person. She explained everything in simple terms so it was easy to digest and remember. My first aid course was organised for the residents of my village. I am so glad I attended. Emma the instructor has a... clear interactive teaching style and is very approachable. We covered all the topics we asked about and lots more such as stroke, head injury, heavy bleeding, heart attack, using a defibrillator and meningitis etc. Emma backed up first aid/resus guidance with an explanation of why we would do this in an understable and common sense way. We also got chance to practice cpr on models of babies, children and adults. This is the 4th first aid course I've done and I can honestly say it's been the best , Gloria was lovely and kept it... fun and interesting , we learnt new things that were not related as such to first aid but for our work with children. Spending 2 weekends doing first aid was not my idea of fun but from start to finish I enjoyed it and left after the 2sessions feeling more knowledgeable and confident that I could handle any situation should it ever arise. I have booked GEM compliance training before for my staff, this time I was the one who was attending the paediatric... first aid with 2 other staff. The location is central to keighley as so easy to get to, the parking is just outside which was a bonus for me. The course was very informative, which taught me new skills and the assessment was carried out through out the day, except for the multiple choice question paper at the end of each day. The trainer kirsty was very helpful and friendly, she made all of us feel welcome and at home by carrying out small group tasks to get you thinking. The tea and biscuits where a bonus too.
