There are changes afoot where Paediatric First Aid is concerned, so carry on reading to make sure you’re fully up to speed…
Your Certificate of Qualification
If you have completed your Paediatric First Aid qualification – through us or another First Aid training provider – you will know that the awarding body issues each delegate with a certificate upon completion of the course. Not only is this proof that you’re a qualified Paediatric First Aider but it also tells you when your qualification will expire.
If you’ve recently received your certificate from us, you may have noticed the addition of 2 more dates, which has caused some confusion among our delegates. These additional dates will be included on all Paediatric First Aid certificates issued from now on and detail when your annual update is due. Please be rest assured that this is completely optional and not a requirement. The certificate only recommends that you undertake extra training but your qualification will still be valid for the full three years without it.
Although annual refresher training is completely optional, it is something that we recommend here at GEM Compliance Training, as it allows you to update your knowledge and practice your First Aid skills. We offer a low cost Paediatric First Aid Annual Update for only £20 + VAT per person. The course lasts for 3 hours and you will receive a certificate of attendance.
We know how valuable your time is, which is why we are always looking at new and innovative ways to ensure that you receive the correct First Aid provision for both children and adults in your care – leaving you to get on with your job with minimum disruption.
With this in mind, we are pleased to announce a new combined course that allows you to complete your Paediatric First Aid Level 3 training and your First Aid at Work Level 3 training in only 3 days (instead of the usual 5) with both qualifications still valid for 3 years and fully accredited. As there are very few training companies that provide this combined course, we are delighted to be able to offer it to our customers!
So, if you work with children and you are also responsible for adults (parents, guardians, visitors etc) on the premises, this 3-day course is worth considering. Remember, having the correct Paediatric First Aid provision in place is not only a statutory requirement for the majority of childcare providers but it is crucial for the safety of children in your care. Our course also fully meets the requirements of Ofsted and The Early Years Foundation Stage. In addition, our comprehensive and Ofqual regulated Level 3 First Aid at Work course, covers a wide range of injuries and illnesses, which are explored in depth to give you the essential skills needed to give First Aid to adults.
