Dennis Nunn

Dennis has over 30 years of first aid experience which he developed whilst serving in the Army for 23 years along with his background in health and safety.

On retiring from the Army Dennis completed his National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH General Certificate) and converted his military experience of first aid completing a civilian instructor assessor course. Shortly after this he embarked on a teaching career as a lecturer at Bradford College within the Early Years, Health and Social Care department.

His roles within the college were to set up a first aid training unit, co-ordinate and deliver all the required first aid training across the college sector along with delivering health and safety, information technology and the Deloitte Employability programme within his vocational area. After 14 years Dennis decided to retire as a lecturer and pursue a semi-retired role as a as a freelance trainer delivering first aid. Whilst at college Dennis completed his Post-Compulsory Education and Training (PCET).

Dennis’s passion for first aid stems from his time in the army where he spent 6 years teaching to 16-19 year old apprentice soldiers at a Army Apprentice College, and believes from his own personal experiences from his school days that all learners matter and deserve the best experience within the learning environment.

Dennis also has a passion for sport and has been a swimming teacher for 18 years teaching to both children and adults.

In his spare time he likes to develop his DIY skills around the house, keep fit and spend time with his family and grandchildren
