Health and Safety Consultant

Richard is a Health and Safety consultant, behavioural safety coach and trainer for GEM.

Delivering various courses CITB, IOSH and internal courses, as a 45001 lead Auditor, 9001 Internal Auditor sees him Developing, leading, and managing safety management systems, ever one to broaden experience and knowledge now sees him branching out to delivering First Aid for GEM.

Richard’s background saw him as an apprentice trained Mechanical fitter served at GEC Alsthom, at Thornbury in Bradford. Subsequently moving into the oil industry as an Oil Well Completions Technician in Aberdeen, then moving into Health and Safety in 2007, Internationally experienced spending over 10 years in Angola, working in remote locations including Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Papua New Guinea, South Korea and Australia.

With over 22 years offshore experience, a chartered member of IOSH, he holds numerous qualifications including a Batchelor of Science in Occupational, Safety and Health, and a Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Amongst others recent qualifications sees Richard as an Asbestos Protection Supervisor, Radiation Protection Supervisor and Breathing Apparatus Instructor.

When he does have any spare time Richard enjoys collecting anything Retro, he enjoys a nice pint as well as spending time with his wife Helen and 9-year-old son Noah as an avid supporter of Bradford City as well as enjoying football in general, he thoroughly enjoys assisting in coaching for his sons under 10’s Football team.
