FAQs

The Resuscitation Council (UK) recently changed the age guidelines for First Aid workplace provision to the following:

  • First Aid at Work (and Emergency First Aid at Work): Qualifies delegates to legally administer First Aid to those aged over 18 years old.
  • Paediatric First Aid: Qualifies delegates to legally administer First Aid to those aged from infancy, up until the age of 18 years.

Both our 12 hour Paediatric First Aid courses fully meets both Ofsted and the Early Years Framework requirements. Alongside this, upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a regulated certificate that is nationally recognised.

Our 6 hour Emergency Paediatric First Aid course only partly meets both Ofsted and the Early Years Framework requirements.

If you need a Paediatric First Aid course to fully meet both Ofsted and the Early Years Framework requirements, you will need to consider one of our 12 hour courses, either our Blended Learning Paediatric First Aid Course or our Paediatric First Aid Course (12 hours) | 2 day Face to Face

Yes. This is the first part of the training which is to be completed before attending one of our face to face training sessions. Our video training course is intended to give an introduction into the course which will be built on when attending our face to face session.

A First Aider can renew their First Aid at Work qualification by attending our First Aid at Work Requalification Level 3 course, if it’s within 1 month past the expiry date. If the First Aider has lapsed beyond 1 month then they must attend a full First Aid at Work Level 3 course. The important thing to remember is that as soon as the certificate expires, the First Aider is no longer considered competent to act as a First Aider in the workplace which may well leave the employer with a shortfall of First Aiders.

You may have to consider one of our two options for attending a full First Aid at Work course. Follow this link for more details: 3 day First Aid at Work Course (18 hours) or 2 day First Aid at Work (18 hours) Blended Learning

This is an optional requirement however, attendees of this course will have exclusive free access to our GEM First Aid annual refresher video training presented by our GEM trainers, each year until certificate renewal is needed in 3 years’ time.

We will take payment upon receipt of your order for our training services alternatively at request we can raise and send an invoice which will become payable 7 days prior to the training course commencing.

The dress code for this course is casual - attendees should wear comfortable clothing due to the practical nature of this course. If you have long hair it may be helpful to bring something to tie it back.

Yes. As this is a regulated qualification, all delegates are required to bring photographic identification (such as a passport or driving licence) when attending this course.

It can take up to 21 days to be released from our awarding body. Once we have received it, we will email it straight out to the person who paid for the course place. Certificates will only be released upon receipt of full payment of the training services provided.

Upon successful completion of this course, attendees will be awarded a nationally recognised Ofqual regulated certificate valid for 3 years.
