Anyone can be affected by a mental health condition either themselves or a family member, friend or colleague.
This 4 hour awareness Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health (RQF) regulated course (in association with Paula Colman of Paco Training) is suitable for everyone as it provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a suspected mental health condition and the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost a person towards professional help.
All members of the public can benefit from this course and it is a great stepping stone into First Aid for Mental Health.
What is covered?
A range of First Aid for Mental Health related subjects are covered including:
• What is First Aid for Mental Health?
• Identifying mental health conditions
• Providing advice and starting a conversation• Stress
• Mental health conditions
A minimum of 4 hours spread over at least one day. Ideally, the course should be run in one day, but must be completed within 2 weeks of starting the course, with each training session a minimum of two hours.
A range of methods are used, including practical and questioning (open and multiple-choice).
Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, Learners will be awarded the Ofqual regulated Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health.
Who can attend?
The course is simply for everyone! Some of the contents could be quite sensitive and can be upsetting to some so we would only ask you to register if you are over 16 years old. We want to ensure that we create a safe and suitable learning environment for all our attendees.
Course cost is only £55 plus vat per person

Courses delivered in your setting can be delivered during business hours to suit your needs. We pride ourselves on our flexible approach in meeting our client’s needs. We can run a single course with a maximum of 16 delegates for this particular course with one of our trainers. Bespoke training packages can be provided and we can offer discounts on block bookings.
