CITB currently have available a range of grants and funding schemes, for construction related employers who are registered with CITB.

See below relating to Qualification Grants:

Short Qualification Grants

(Less than 1 year to complete.)

CITB offer various Short Qualification Grants, and the amount that can be claimed depends on which category on which they fall.

Achievement date on or after 1 April 2023

  • Specific Management qualifications – £1500
  • Specific Supervision qualifications – £1250
  • Specific Rainscreen Cladding qualifications – £1000
  • All other full qualifications – £600

CITB have increased the grants for specific Supervision NVQ Diplomas/SVQ’s and specific Management NVQ Diplomas/SVQ’s, to support construction workers transition from an Industry Accredited card (awarded under Grandfather Rights) to a qualification.

Please note that CSCS will stop renewing industry accreditation cards on 30th June 2024 and ALL CSCS Cards obtained through IA after 1st January 2020 will expire on 31st December 2024, and cannot be renewed.

  • Level 3/SCQF Level 6 in Built Environment Design
  • Level 3/SCQF Level 6 in Construction Contracting Operations – [any subcategory]

  • Level 3 in Surveying, Property and Maintenance
  • Level 4/SCQF Level 7 in Construction Site Supervision

Management – Applies to Black Management CSCS Cards

  • Level 6/SCQF Level 10 in Construction Site Management
  • Level 6/SCQF Level 9 in Built Environment Design Management
  • Level 6/SCQF Level 9 in Construction Contracting Operations Management – [any subcategory]
  • Level 6 in Senior Site Inspection
  • Level 7/SCQF Level 11 in Construction Senior Management

Additionally to the above, CITB also pay grants for the following:

Long Qualification Grants

(More than 1 year to complete)

  • Higher National Certificates and Diplomas (HNCs and HNDs)
  • Degrees
  • Post-graduate qualifications

These grants are for long qualifications and do not apply to apprenticeships.

Specialist applied-skills programmes (SAP)

These programmes last 18 months and contain several related modules, leading to a Level 2 or 3 National or Scottish Vocational Qualification (NVQ or SVQ).

Into Work Grant

Into Work grant supports employers to provide the work experience element of post-16 further education courses to enable progression for individuals into the construction industry.
